TYSON® SLOW COOKED ENTRÉES // Convenience Meets Flavor

Consumers were tired of sacrificing flavor for convenience. Thus the appeal of precooked meals that paired easy prep with refrigerated-never-frozen flavor retention. So when Tyson wanted to enter the fully-cooked heat-and-serve category, they needed packaging that could achieve case-ready performance along with microwaveable practicality.

SOLUTION

Progressive Packaging created a customized microwaveable tray for heating and serving Tyson® Slow Cooked Entrées using mineral-filled polypropylene. This material was chosen for its increased rigidity and higher temperature resistance along with its ability to provide a lower cost option. Consumers were able to enjoy a more flavorful dinner made with no preservatives and easily microwaveable in a portion-correct size.
